Automatically adjusts operation in response to power supply-demand conditions: Panasonic refrigerators support Chubu Electric Power's "DR requests"

Panasonic and Chubu Electric Mirai launched signups for an automated demand response service that controls home refrigerators.

The service supports both down DR, which reduces consumption, and up DR, which increases it, based on grid conditions.

Control is handled through a smartphone app and cloud connectivity, so users can join demand adjustment without manual operation.

It is Japan's first DR service for home refrigerators, aiming to combine household energy savings with grid stability.
