America’s AI Trade War Expands To Humanoid Robots

On July 28, the Trump administration and the FCC added foreign-made advanced robots and connected power inverters to the Covered List, limiting new U.S. sales approvals.

The move targets AI-enabled physical systems such as humanoid and four-legged robots, with Chinese manufacturers the main focus.

Some previously approved products can remain on the market, but new devices will face much tighter access.

The decision broadens the U.S.-China tech fight from chips and software into robotics, sensors, and energy hardware.
