Chrome brings web search and AI together... Google kicks off 'browser revolution'

Google is rolling out a Chrome desktop AI Mode update for U.S. users that can use open tabs, tab groups, images, and PDFs as search context.

Clicking a link now opens the webpage alongside AI Mode, letting users keep reading while asking follow-up questions.

Google says the change should reduce repeated typing and tab switching, and it plans to expand the feature to more regions.
