Ableton is letting musicians build browser-style extensions for Live

Ableton is adding an Extensions SDK to Live, letting developers build JavaScript-based add-ons that go beyond MIDI and audio tools.

The extensions can interact with parts of the DAW interface and workflow, enabling automation and new creative functions.

Ableton showed examples such as bulk track renaming, automatic song arrangement, MIDI-to-notation conversion, sample slicing, and drum-loop rearranging.

The SDK is available now, with early access through the Live 12.4.5 beta for Live Suite owners.
