California’s DMV released 100 pages of new rules for autonomous vehicle testing and deployment.

The rules let police cite AV companies for traffic violations and require faster reporting to the DMV.

They also add new data-sharing and safety obligations, replacing disengagement reports with a new failure metric.

Heavy-duty autonomous vehicles can now test on public roads and may eventually be allowed to operate there.
