US Navy receives combat management system to enable rapid fleet-wide upgrades

Lockheed Martin delivered the US Navy’s first Integrated Combat System-enabled Aegis baseline, BL9.C3.0.

Built in the company’s Forge CI/CD environment, it uses common software and compute infrastructure for faster delivery.

The new approach supports a modular, open-architecture combat system with six-month update and certification cycles.

It should speed fleet-wide modernization on surface ships, including Arleigh Burke destroyers, without waiting for major hardware changes.
