Hands-On With HoverAir Aqua, a Drone That Isn't Afraid of the Water

CNET tested the HoverAir Aqua, a 249-gram waterproof drone made for tracking people during water sports like kayaking, surfing, and paddleboarding.

The drone uses a wearable Lighthouse controller, supports autonomous follow modes, and can also be controlled through a phone app or manually.

With an IP-67 rating, it’s built for wet environments and aimed at capturing action footage around water.

It ships to 50 countries, but it is still unavailable in the U.S. because of regulatory issues.

At $1,299, it points to a premium new category of purpose-built drones for water activities.
