Google's new Spark agent works 24/7, even when your phone is locked

Google unveiled Spark at I/O 2026, a semi-autonomous personal AI agent powered by Gemini 3.5.

Spark can keep working in the cloud after the phone is locked or the app is closed, making it a persistent assistant.

It integrates with Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Slides to monitor email, draft documents, and automate routine tasks.

Google is rolling it out first to trusted testers, then to U.S. Google AI Ultra subscribers and the Gemini desktop app.
