Google TV update will support Wii-like pointer remotes

At Google I/O 2026, Google said Google TV will increasingly support motion-based pointer remotes.

New UI behaviors include hover states, cursor clicks, and scrollable containers for pointer-driven navigation.

Google is asking developers to update apps and the home screen for the new input model.
