Amazon launches Ring's first security video doorbell for Japan with familiar-face recognition

Amazon announced a Japan-only Ring Doorphone Pro with a new face familiarity recognition feature.

The device integrates a doorbell, 4K security camera, and siren, and was developed for Japanese housing environments.

Hardware includes vertical/horizontal 140° wide-angle lens, Retinal Vision 10x zoom, night vision, and 3D motion detection.

It offers live video and two-way audio; Ring Home subscription enables video storage, sharing, and 24/7 recording.

Preorders are open, price is ¥54,900 with shipping from April 22; facial data is encrypted, up to 50 people can be registered.
