Android 17 Beta 3 brings Google’s screen recorder redesign out of Canary

Android 17 Beta 3 includes a streamlined, pill-shaped screen recording UI.

The screen recorder is accessed from a quick settings tile and the recording menu can be opened via Live Update in the left-hand corner.

A drop-down offers a single-app recording option, and starting a recording triggers a countdown.

Stopping a recording shows a playback preview with buttons to edit, share, delete, or begin a new recording.

Beta 3 marks Android 17’s platform stability phase; the redesigned menu first appeared in Android Canary leaks and Pixel devices are the referenced install context.
