Anthropic tests new Claude Code desktop UI amid source leak

Anthropic is testing a new Claude Code Desktop interface mode called Epitaxy that adds hotkeys and tool changes for power users.

The Epitaxy interface includes an animated Claude mascot and a ‘Let Claude cook’ graphic in the UI.

Claude Code source was exposed via a source map file in Anthropic's npm registry, revealing unreleased model names such as Capybara and Strudel.

Anthropic said the exposure was a misconfiguration rather than a security breach, and some developers have begun forking the exposed code.
