Tencent Music to Launch “Tiantian Changting” App to Rival ByteDance in Audio Market

Tencent Music is preparing to launch Tiantian Changting, a lightweight standalone long-form audio app incubated by Lanren Tingshu.

The app will include recommendations, rankings, categories, and user profiles to create a more focused listening experience.

The move is meant to segment users, expand usage scenarios, and strengthen Tencent Music’s position against ByteDance’s Fanqie Changting.

Tencent Music is also waiting for approval of its planned Ximalaya acquisition, which could further boost its scale in China’s growing audio market.
