OpenAI appoints retired U.S. Army general

OpenAI appointed retired U.S. Army General Paul M. Nakasone to its Board of Directors.

He will join the Safety and Security Committee and advise on cybersecurity and AI security.

Nakasone previously led U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency.

The move underscores OpenAI’s push to harden its systems as AI capabilities and cyber risks grow.
