Epic Games Store launches on iPhone in Japan, but not one developer has signed on

Epic Games has launched its own iPhone app store in Japan under the new competition law.

For now, only Epic’s games are available, including Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe, because no outside developers have signed up yet.

Epic says developers may be deterred by fears of Apple retaliation and the Core Technology Fee.

The company plans to raise its concerns with Japan’s Fair Trade Commission as the launch tests the country’s new app-store rules.
