Microsoft offers devs a better way to control AI agent behavior

Microsoft launched the open-source Agent Control Specification (ACS) to standardize how teams govern AI agent behavior.

ACS lets organizations define granular policies for allowed and blocked actions, human approval steps, logging, and checks throughout workflows.

The standard is designed to work across frameworks and SDKs such as LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, Anthropic Agents SDK, AutoGen, and CrewAI.

Microsoft says the goal is to reduce fragmentation and improve security and compliance controls for agentic systems.
