Introducing Agent Skills

Anthropic has launched Agent Skills for Claude: reusable folders of instructions, scripts, and resources that load only when needed.

The update adds organization-wide skill management, a partner skill directory, and an open standard that works across Claude apps, Claude Code, and the API.

Developers can build and version custom skills in Claude Console and through the new /v1/skills endpoint.

Users can tap built-in skills for tasks like spreadsheets, presentations, documents, and PDFs.
