Circana updated its U.S. game-sales methodology to combine known physical sales with projected digital sales when publisher data is incomplete.

With the new approach, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream topped April’s U.S. best-seller chart, followed by Pragmata and Crimson Desert.

Circana says the change gives a more accurate picture of the market, though the estimates can still carry some error.

The revised reporting could shift rankings for major games and publishers as previously missing digital sales are factored in.
