China’s new naval monster has a strange mission: sink halfway before getting to work

China delivered the Sihang Yongsheng in Jiangmen on July 8, 2026, a new semi-submersible heavy-lift crane vessel.

The non-self-propelled barge combines offshore transport and lifting, with a 149-meter crane that can lift up to 2,200 tons.

It can carry components weighing as much as 20,000 tons, making it one of China’s latest large marine engineering assets.

The vessel will support bridge, port, terminal, offshore wind, aquaculture, and deepwater resource projects.
