OpenADR And Matter Are Collaborating To Let Your Smart Home Talk To The Grid

OpenADR and Matter have signed a liaison agreement to accelerate grid-connected residential energy management.

The goal is to let Matter-based devices, including thermostats and EV chargers, work with utility demand-response systems without extra hardware.

This could help appliances automatically shift energy use during peak demand, cutting bills and easing pressure on the grid.

The partnership may also eliminate the need for separate demand-response boxes.
