New Holographic 3D Printing Method Is 70x More Efficient

EPFL researchers improved holographic tomographic volumetric additive manufacturing by controlling laser phase directly inside the printer.

The new setup cuts speckle, boosts efficiency about 70x, and prints larger structures much faster.

It can fabricate cell-compatible forms such as a life-sized human ear while keeping embedded cells viable.

The advance could accelerate bioprinting toward more accurate, energy-efficient, near-clinical-scale tissue production.
