Android 17's new Now Playing bar finally fixes the most annoying part of media switching

Android 17 QPR1 Beta 3 is testing a redesigned Now Playing bar with multiple recent media sessions shown as vertical pills.

Users can switch between media sessions by tapping or swiping, instead of the older single-item swipe selector.

The update aims to make media control faster and reduce accidental scrubbing or lost playback state.

Google appears to be refining media controls on Pixel devices, including the Pixel 10 Pro.
