America’s AI Trade War Expands to Humanoid Robots

The Trump administration is moving to block advanced foreign-made robots and connected power inverters from the U.S. market by adding them to the FCC Covered List.

The target includes humanoid robots, quadrupeds, and other connected machines with sensors, software, and wireless links, mainly from Chinese manufacturers.

Existing approved products can stay on sale, but new devices will face much tougher authorization hurdles for commercial distribution.

Congress is also advancing related measures, including the GUARD Act, to scrutinize robotics imports from foreign adversaries.

The move expands AI restrictions from chips and cloud services into physical machines, intensifying the U.S.-China national security and trade fight.
