Google Just Bought a Stake in the Maker of Eve Online to Train Its AI Models

Google has taken a minority stake in the company behind Eve Online, now Fenris Creations, in a deal tied to AI research.

DeepMind will use the long-running online game to study player behavior and train models for planning, strategy, and social simulation.

The partnership comes after the studio bought back Eve Online rights from Pearl Abyss and could also shape future gameplay experiences.
