Rakuten AI to be Standard on HP PCs, Advancing Practical Hybrid AI

Japan HP and Rakuten Group will preinstall the AI agent app "Rakuten AI for Desktop" on selected HP Windows PCs in stages.

The app switches between on-device AI and cloud AI, supporting writing, summarization, translation, and integration with Rakuten services.

The business version is already available, while the consumer rollout is planned for October 2026 or later.

The move could help spread practical hybrid AI use in Japan’s PC market by combining local and cloud-based AI on mainstream devices.
