AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 arrives as Intel scraps Core Ultra 9 290K Plus

AMD launched the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, a 16-core Zen 5 desktop CPU with 3D V-Cache on both chiplets.

The chip packs 208MB of total cache and will be available starting April 22, with pricing not yet announced.

AMD projects workload boosts such as up to 13% in AI/simulation and about 7% in V-Ray and Blender tests.

Intel reportedly canceled its planned Core Ultra 9 290K Plus around the same time as AMD's launch.
