Mojang changes Minecraft system requirements after 17 years, recommends 16GB of RAM for "Fancy" graphics

Mojang has raised Minecraft: Java Edition’s official PC requirements for the first time in 17 years.

The new recommendations include 16GB of RAM for the Fancy preset, plus higher CPU and GPU expectations.

Mojang also added separate Fast and Fancy targets aimed at smooth 1080p gameplay.

The change may affect older PCs, but it could help unlock future performance upgrades such as Vulkan support.
