Apple may borrow Android’s smartest anti-theft feature for future iPhones

Apple is reportedly testing an iPhone theft-detection feature that could lock a device immediately after a sudden snatch.

The system may use motion, sensor, and contextual signals, plus Apple Watch proximity, to reduce false alarms and protect sensitive data.

It appears inspired by Android 15’s Theft Detection Lock and could arrive in a future iOS release, though Apple has not announced it.
