Disney may be interested in acquiring Epic Games at some point, it’s claimed

A tech reporter said some senior Disney executives want Disney to buy Epic Games while others oppose it.

Disney invested $1.5 billion for an equity stake in Epic Games in February 2024 and is working with Epic on a persistent Fortnite-linked universe.

Epic Games recently announced layoffs of more than 1,000 employees, and Unreal Engine is used in film and TV production.
