Hybrid-electric eVTOL could fly troops and military supplies across 1,000 miles

Vertical Aerospace has begun testing a hybrid-electric propulsion system for its Valo eVTOL at its HYPER facility in England.

The company says the setup could extend range to about 1,000 miles, enabling cargo, troop transport, and other defense uses.

Vertical also unveiled a new production line for its first all-electric batteries as it moves toward certification.

The program is being developed alongside UK and European regulators, with support from commercial partners and potential operators.
