Metro 2039 is coming this year, a game 'fundamentally changed' by Russia's illegal war

4A Games has revealed Metro 2039, coming later this year to PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The studio says Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine profoundly changed development, scattering the team across 20 countries.

That experience has shaped the sequel’s story, which now centers more directly on the consequences of war.

Metro 2039 continues the series’ post-nuclear setting and will feature a fully voiced protagonist.
