AMD and Anthropic form strategic partnership; up to 2GW of "Helios" deployment and as much as $5 billion in investment

AMD announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic to deploy its Helios AI rack-scale platform at up to 2GW.

The core hardware will be the Instinct MI450 series, with the first 1GW rollout slated to begin in the first half of 2027.

AMD is also considering a strategic investment of up to $5 billion, deepening ties across hardware and software ecosystems.

The deal could strengthen AMD's position in AI infrastructure and expand adoption of ROCm and its broader stack.
