Anthropic and Amazon expand collaboration for up to 5 gigawatts of new compute

Anthropic and Amazon expanded their partnership with a deal for up to 5 GW of compute for Claude.

The agreement adds more Trainium2 and Trainium3 capacity, broader AWS deployment, and direct access to Claude on AWS.

Amazon will invest another $5 billion in Anthropic, with up to $20 billion more possible later.

Anthropic said demand for Claude and its infrastructure needs have surged, driving the expanded cloud buildout.
