Spotify has launched a new “user notes” feature in some markets, letting listeners add personal reasons, memories, or listening context next to songs in playlists.

The feature is available to some free users aged 16+ and Premium subscribers, and is meant to make playlists more personal and social.

Spotify also introduced a running mode that selects songs based on workout stage and pace.

The update could deepen user engagement and help Spotify stand out from rivals like Apple Music and YouTube Music.
