Bill Gates’ nuclear firm acquires South Korean tech for 345-MW US sodium-cooled reactor

TerraPower completed training at KAERI under a 7 billion won agreement for reactor safety testing technology transfer.

The deal includes STELLA reactor safety testing IP and manufacturing design data to help build an independent U.S. test facility.

The transferred know-how will support safety validation and regulatory approval for TerraPower’s Natrium sodium-cooled reactor.

The Wyoming-based 345-MW Natrium project is backed by Bill Gates and aims to advance next-generation nuclear deployment.
