Building an Offline-First Bushfire Response Platform With Hermes Agent

Project Haven was rebuilt from a hackathon prototype into a production-style, offline-first bushfire response platform.

It now uses Hermes Agent instead of a fake chatbot to provide verified emergency advice, evacuation help, and daily fire-risk briefings.

The system combines live risk data with Australian emergency protocols and sources like the Bureau of Meteorology and NSW RFS.

It also automates post-crisis support by researching recovery grants and matching users with Services Australia and NDRA options.

The stack includes microservices, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, a React PWA, OpenAPI, and XGBoost-based risk modeling.
