Microsoft will let users disable the floating Copilot button in the Office app

Microsoft is updating Office apps so users can move the floating Copilot button back to the ribbon or change its position.

The default floating button had drawn backlash for covering content, especially in Excel.

The tweak reverses a UI choice meant to make Copilot more visible and encourage use.

The change signals Microsoft is adjusting AI features after complaints they were becoming too intrusive in everyday productivity tools.
