Nature says Chinese startups are rapidly advancing AI-powered brain-computer interfaces through clinical trials and early commercialization.

NeuroXess reported that a spinal cord injury patient moved a PC cursor and controlled appliances by thought, while another patient produced decoded speech.

The progress is backed by China’s push for BCI leadership, but regulators are also tightening ethics, consent, and safety rules.
