OpenAI launches a new company focused on FDE, fully supporting enterprise AI adoption

OpenAI has launched OpenAI Deployment Company to expand enterprise AI support centered on forward deployed engineers.

The new firm will start with roughly 150 people brought in through the Tomoro acquisition.

OpenAI will keep majority ownership and control, while investors and consulting, SI, and other partners take part.

The move goes beyond model delivery to hands-on implementation and workflow transformation inside customer organizations.

It signals intensifying competition in the enterprise AI market against players like Palantir and Anthropic.
