The Fitbit app is dead, long live Google Health

Google is renaming the Fitbit companion app to Google Health and rolling out a redesigned interface centered on fitness, sleep, health, and today tabs.

The new app will add customizable dashboards, broader device and app support, and a Google Health Premium tier for advanced features.

Fitbit account users will need to migrate to a Google account, and the update will roll out automatically from May 19 to May 26.

Some features and integrations will be removed, including Lifescan connections, badges, direct messages, certain social data, and some detailed stress and skin temperature views.
