Canonical and Google simplify AI workloads on TPUs

Canonical and Google Cloud launched certified Ubuntu images for Cloud TPU VMs, covering Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS.

The images are validated across multiple TPU generations, including newer TPU7x/Ironwood systems and ongoing support for TPU v5 and v6.

This makes Ubuntu the default on newer TPU hardware, reducing setup friction for AI teams and preserving existing production environments.

Google Cloud also highlighted support for PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Ray, and Kubernetes, with Ubuntu Pro support planned later.
