Apple won’t be putting a 200MP camera in your iPhone anytime soon

Apple has reportedly tested a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for iPhone, but it is not expected to arrive before 2028.

For now, Apple appears to be prioritizing low-light performance and optical flexibility over a high-megapixel zoom leap.

Upcoming iPhone 18 Pro camera changes are likely to center on 48MP sensors and a variable aperture.

If it ships, a 200MP telephoto sensor would bring a major boost to zoom quality, cropping flexibility, and fine detail.
