Largest Ever Dinosaur Discovered in Southeast Asia Was a Real Doozy

Researchers identified a new sauropod, Nagatitan chaiyaphumensis, from fossils found in northeastern Thailand.

The dinosaur is estimated to have been about 27 meters long and up to 28 tons, making it the largest dinosaur discovered in Southeast Asia.

The remains came from the youngest dinosaur-bearing rocks in Thailand, suggesting it was among the last giant sauropods in the region.

The find helps clarify the final stage of dinosaur life in Southeast Asia before the area became a shallow sea.
