K12-KGraph: A Curriculum-Aligned Knowledge Graph for Benchmarking and Training Educational LLMs

Researchers released K12-KGraph, a knowledge graph built from official K-12 textbooks in math, physics, chemistry, and biology.

They also introduced K12-Bench to evaluate curriculum cognition and K12-Train for supervised fine-tuning of educational LLMs.

The results show that standard models struggle with textbook relationships and visual content, while domain-specific training improves performance.

The work offers a more realistic way to measure and train educational LLMs beyond exam-style benchmarks.
