Sakana AI Releases Fugu-Cyber: An Orchestration Model Reporting 86.9% on CyberGym and 72.1% on CTI-REALM

Sakana AI has released Fugu-Cyber, a cybersecurity-focused orchestration model in its Fugu family.

The company says it scored 86.9% on the CyberGym vulnerability benchmark and 72.1% on Microsoft’s CTI-REALM detection-engineering benchmark.

Fugu-Cyber is designed as a routing and verification layer over specialist models, not as a standalone frontier model.

The launch adds a security-tuned option for tasks like vulnerability proving and detection rule generation, while also raising questions about benchmark definitions and metrics.
