Floating wave energy converter deployed at sea to test performance in challenging environments

IDOM has deployed the floating MARMOK A-5 wave energy prototype at BiMEP off Bizkaia for offshore testing.

The device will be connected to the grid and evaluated in real sea conditions for performance, durability, and maintainability.

The trial will provide data on reliability, maintenance needs, and power output in harsh marine environments.

Those results will help assess whether wave energy can scale commercially and reduce energy costs.
