Steam survey shows Linux hitting an all-time high with gamers

Valve’s March 2026 Steam survey shows Linux at a record 5.33% share on Steam.

Linux jumped from 2.23% in February to 5.33% in March, a 3.10 percentage-point increase.

About a quarter of Linux gamers in the survey use SteamOS, driven partly by Steam Deck adoption.
