UCLA researchers found that a single dose of rapamycin rapidly eased autism-like behaviors in adult mice exposed to prenatal inflammation.

Seizure risk, repetitive behavior, and sensory over-responsivity dropped, and brain-network activity shifted toward normal within about two hours.

The benefit appeared functional and short-lived rather than a structural repair.

The study suggests some neurodevelopmental effects may still be modifiable in adulthood, but it does not prove a human autism treatment.
