Security researcher just turned the PS5 into a Linux PC, and it can run GTA V at 60fps

Security researcher Andy Nguyen published instructions and tools to boot Linux on select older PS5 models.

The method relies on a patched firmware vulnerability, works only on specific versions, and is temporary rather than persistent.

It requires custom driver tweaks and applies mainly to narrow, disc-based console setups.

The demo showed Linux running PC-style workloads, including GTA V at 60 fps and Spider-Man at high frame rates.
