IBM Bob aims to make vibe coding enterprise-ready

IBM has made its Bob AI coding assistant generally available for enterprise use after months of internal testing and an earlier security issue.

Bob is positioned as an AI partner across the full development lifecycle, with multiple model types, built-in security checks, and optional third-party scanning.

IBM also introduced a mainframe-focused preview package for modernization work and added usage-based pricing plans.

An on-premises deployment option is planned for later, aimed at customers with strict data residency requirements.
